Four Ways to Rock the Crop Top/Skirt Combo

Skirts are lengthening while shirts are shrinking. As odd as it seems, celebs have been cropping up (pun intended) everywhere in long feminine skirts with a matching mini top.  Kim Kardashian, Shailene Woodley, Miranda Kerr and others have dabbled in the trend. Here are a few more practical ways to try the style out for yourself.

 1)   If making a huge statement isn’t your thing, try a muted color. Kim Kardashian tones it down—if that’s possible for Kim—in all white. article-0-1C3AB34900000578-21_306x738

2)    Cover up! Jamie Chung adds a fun leather jacket that pulls the eyes away from the midriff.

3)    Still nervous about being too out there? Ditch the matchy-matchy look to take things down a notch. Coordinate colors or mix totally different ones, like Anne Hathaway.

4)    Who said a crop top had to be involved? Tuck your top into a lady-like skirt for a classic look. Or work it like Solange and add the matching element through the jacket.

I was never the girl that had an obscene amount of nail polish hidden in my bathroom drawers, but I was always the girl begging my mom to take me for a mani/pedi after school, and always made sure to have a coat of fresh polish on my fingers.

That being said I was thrilled when I was able to sample some Julep brand nail polish in recent weeks. Nothing brightens up your day and gives you the ultra feminine touch like a fresh manicure.

The Oscars 2014: Fashion Hits & Misses

Unknown

Undoubtedly, Oscar night is the most important Hollywood event of the year. And this year at the 86th Annual Academy Awards, our favorite celebrities stepped out in custom gowns, shoes and donned jewelry most of us can only dream about.

Seasoned Oscar-goers like Meryl Streep and Jennifer Lawrence always dress to impress, and this year was no exception. Though there were some newer faces to Hollywood that stole the limelight like Lupita Nyong’o.

There was a lot of neutral tones on the red carpet, and certainly a handful of reds and blues. Just about everyone’s accessories were perfection this year. And the common theme seemed to be, less is more, and I couldn’t agree more!
